"You have nothing in this world more precious than your children. When you grow old, when your hair turns white and your body grows weary, when you are prone to sit in a rocker and meditate on the things of your life, nothing will be so important as the question of how your children have turned out. It will not be the money you have made. It will not be the cars you have owned. It will not be the large house in which you live. The searing question that will cross your mind again and again will be, How well have my children done?"

A New Addition to the family

Here's the story. Many of you know that for some time now, we have been "looking" at larger vehicles for our family. By looking, I mean, I am ready to sign my life away and Seth is waving at me from the car as he drives outta the dealership!! :)
We originally LOVED the Toyota Sienna. This was back about a year ago and we didn't really look into it too much. We both felt it wasn't a necessary purchase at the time and we should wait.
About 6 months later I started nagging again and this time we started looking at the Nissan Quest. It was a very stylish minivan. We went and looked at a used one but it really didn't have all the "little things" that we wanted. I told Seth that I really wanted a NEW van since it would have to last us roughly our middle aged lives!! Without sounding too spoiled and bratty, I think he understood. Again, however, we didn't feel it was the right time.
A couple months later, Seth came home and said that with gas prices going up up up, we should look into an SUV since their prices were going down down down! We found the GMC Acadia. It gets the EXACT same gas mileage as the Honda Odyssey. AWESOME! Fell in love...Seth called it "SEXY"!! :) It was perfect...just not PERFECT for us! It would be an AWESOME vehicle for a family that was set on having TWO kids, but with two in car seats, we wouldn't be able to access the third row.
BUMMER!!!!!
We were outta luck again. However, after this, Seth was more into the "buying" stage and we really started to do our research.
Knowing what WOULDN'T work really helped us to decide and find something that WOULD work...the TOYOTA SIENNA!! It was perfect...even for us!! We really came full circle and ended up deciding on the vehicle we first fell in love with.
Getting it here wasn't quite as cut and dry...
Toyota is having INSANE incentives on '08 vehicles right now to get rid of them. So, being the exact same model as the '09, we opted for the incentives. PROBLEM: NO '08 8 PASSENGER TOYOTA SIENNA'S IN THE STATE OF ARIZONA!! What?! How can that be possible?! We're still not sure how that all happened, but we finally found a broker who found the van in NEVADA. It was FLOWN to Arizona the next day!
SO....long story short....last week we got THIS:

*
*
*
*
*
*
*
*
*
*
*
*
*
*
*
*
*
*
*
And the next morning we got THIS:
*
Thank goodness we opted for the 8 passenger!!
*
And you thought the "new addition" was just the van...didn't you?!?!

Congrats!! I guess my first inclination that you were pregnant was the little "ticker" you posted a couple of days ago - and then I confirmed with Riss. I have been waiting for the confirmation on your page! :-) Very exciting! On both things - we are going to need to buy a bigger vehicle as well. . . .

That is so funny! That's so awesome you two! Good find with the van too! Oh! We totally need to do lunch sometime, esp. if we can meet 1/2way at our hubbies work place. However, we are saving up for a new car (mine died) so we only have one for the time being, but we totally need to hang! Love, Cam
